Ngày 22.5, Tập đoàn Bưu chính - Viễn thông Việt Nam (VNPT) đã chính thức đưa VINASAT-1 vào sử dụng với việc truyền phát tín hiệu chuẩn từ 2 trạm mặt đất ở Hà Nội và TP.HCM lên vệ tinh.

Theo ông Bùi Quốc Việt, Giám đốc Trung tâm Thông tin bưu điện (thuộc Tập đoàn VNPT), việc truyền phát tín hiệu này là thủ tục quan trọng cần thực hiện để khẳng định với Liên minh Viễn thông thế giới (ITU) việc Việt Nam đã đưa VINASAT-1 vào hoạt động ổn định và đúng thời hạn theo yêu cầu của ITU.
